What is DTF printing?
DTF (Direct-to-Film) prints your design onto a special film, coats it with hot-melt adhesive powder, cures it, and heat-presses it onto fabric. See What Is DTF Printing?
What fabrics does DTF work on?
Almost anything — cotton, polyester, blends, nylon, and even bags and caps. Synthetics just need lower heat. See DTF on tricky materials.
How durable are DTF prints? Do they crack?
Done right, DTF lasts 50+ washes without cracking. Durability comes from full powder curing and a proper press — see wash & care. Cracking usually means under-curing or low pressure.
How do I wash DTF garments?
Turn inside out, wash cold on gentle, mild detergent, no bleach, tumble dry low or hang. Full instructions and a care card are in our wash & care guide.
Do I need a printer to sell DTF?
No. You can buy ready-to-press transfers and apply them with just a heat press. See how to apply transfers.
How do I apply a transfer?
Pre-press the garment, position the transfer, press (typically ~300–320°F, 10–15s, firm), peel, then post-press. Details in our heat-press settings guide.
Hot peel or cold peel?
Follow the film’s spec — hot peel removes the film warm, cold peel after it cools. When unsure, cold peel is safer.
How long do transfers last before I press them?
Stored flat, cool, and dry, pre-printed transfers stay press-ready for many months. Ink and powder shelf life is covered here.
What file do I need to send?
A 300-DPI PNG with a transparent background (or vector art), sized to the final print. See designing artwork for DTF.
